A hazardous materials team responded to a Lancaster business this morning when compressed ammonia gas leaked from a container in a laboratory at Advanced Cooling Technologies Inc.
Lisa Kasianowitz, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Environmental Protection, said about 6-7 pounds of ammonia gas leaked from the container just before noon.
Kasianowitz said workers left the container under a venting hood and evacuated the lab.
No other parts of the building in the 1000 block of New Holland Avenue were evacuated.
Exposure to ammonia gas irritates the skin and eyes.
Kasianowitz said there appeared to be no danger to the public.
No injuries were reported.
