GLEN ROCK, Pa. (WHTM) -
After Monday night's home explosion that left a woman dead in Glen Rock, neighbors spent their day Tuesday cleaning up and trying to salvage anything they could.
"It looks like destruction, just totally devastating its hard to imagine," neighbor Will Mintscheff said.
The house has been reduced to rubble, insulation was left strung out on the yard and cars were burnt to a crisp.
Police believe there may have been a gas leak or something may have gone wrong with a propane tank that was filled earlier in the day.
Mintscheff said he's never seen anything like it.
"I think what goes through anyone's head is 'oh, my God' and you hope everyone is OK and unfortunately everybody wasn't OK. There was one fatality, as we now know," he said.
An autopsy revealed the woman found in the wreckage died of smoke inhalation and severe burns. Her death was ruled an accident.
Neighbors said she lived there and returned home about 10 minutes before the explosion.
"I knew her personally. She was part of the friends and family that gathered here," Mintscheff said. "It's very devastating. Someone that you knew, someone that you laughed with and I guess at times cried with, so yeah it's very difficult."
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the explosion.
