CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Mount Holly Springs man is headed to trial for attempted homicide and other charges related to a shooting incident in Carlisle over the weekend.

Brian Hippensteel, 49, waived his preliminary hearing before a district judge Wednesday and allowed the eight charges against him to proceed to Cumberland County court.

Hippensteel is accused of shooting 53-year-old Timothy Bouder in the 600 block of N. West Street Saturday evening.

Police said Hippensteel threatened to kill Bouder before he fired two rounds from a .30-06 rifle from his vehicle into Bouder's vehicle and struck Bouder in the head and neck.

Bouder was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center and was listed in stable condition.

In addition to attempted homicide, Hippensteel was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.

A formal arraignment was scheduled for Dec. 19.
