A Cumberland County man was arrested for simple assault and harassment after he attacked a woman over milk, police said.
Middlesex Township police said 28-year-old Daniel Springstead of Carlisle became enraged because the woman bought a gallon of milk and he had just bought two.
The woman told officers that Springstead on Monday slammed her against a wall, choked her, and threw her on the floor where he slapped her on the head, police said.
She did not require medical attention.
Springstead was arraigned and placed in Cumberland County Prison on $200,000 bail because he had a hearing for domestic assault before a district judge a couple weeks earlier, police said.
