2 charged in home burglary

MANHEIM, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two Lancaster County men have been arrested for a home burglary in Rapho Township.

Manheim police said they charged 22-year-olds Bradley Scott Adams, of Marietta, and Jeremy Scott Hartman, of Mount Joy, for a burglary Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of Old Line Road.

The owner saw two men enter the house and confronted them, but they were able to flee the scene, police said.

Both were eventually were identified by a vehicle description and photo lineups as well as several interviews, police said.

After a short search, police said the two men were found hiding in the basement of a house on South Market Avenue in Mount Joy.

Hartman admitted to his role in the burglary once he was in custody, but Adams refused to speak with investigators, police said.

Authorities said both men reported having issues with drug use and needed money for their addictions.

Each was charged Thursday with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, conspiracy and criminal mischief. Preliminary hearings were set for Oct. 4.

Adams was sent to Lancaster County Prison on $25,000 cash bail. Hartman's bail was set at $30,000 cash.
