A York County man has been arrested for an attempted child luring incident in Dover Township.
Theodore Irving Skinner, 73, of Conewago Township, tried to lure a 15-year-old boy into his vehicle Sept. 17 in the 3700 block of Davidsburg Road, Northern York County Regional police said Friday.
The teen told officers he was helping his mother with volunteer work and was taking trash to a dumpster when Skinner asked him to go for a ride so they could "have some fun," police said.
The boy said he asked Skinner what he meant and was told, "Don't worry about it, it will be fun," police said.
When he tried to walk away, he said Skinner gripped his shoulder to prevent him from leaving, according to police.
The teen's mother came outside and told her son to come inside, and as she went back into the building and the boy started to follow, Skinner grabbed him by the wrist and attempted to pull him towards his vehicle, police said.
The boy said he was able to break free and go inside.
Skinner was charged Monday with interference with the custody of children, luring a child into a motor vehicle and harassment.
He was later released from York County Prison on $20,000 bond, and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 8.
