Martinsville, VA – Martinsville leaders have announced two new appointments in the Public Works Department Friday.

Here is some information about the appointments released from the city's office:

"Mr. Joyce has a strong background in construction, utilities, solid waste management, and coordination of emergency services. He works very well with existing City staff as well as citizens, and has a thorough knowledge of the functions and operations of the City's Public Works Department. "The Public Works Department will be in very capable hands under Jeff's leadership," said Leon Towarnicki, Martinsville City Manager, who has served as the Public Works Director since 1984.

Mr. Morris has been involved with project engineering and administration/management related to City projects, works closely with VDOT and contractors related to highway construction projects, and assists staff and management in a variety of projects requiring technical expertise.
