Three Killed in Floyd County Accident

Posted:

Floyd Co., VA – Virginia State Police say three men died overnight Friday as a result of a single car accident on Christiansburg Turnpike.

According to State Police Sgt. Jason Hytes, the accident happened between 11:45 p.m. and midnight when a 2011 Toyota Rav4 veered across the center line of the road and hit two trees.

State police say Rex Bentley, 52 of Riner, Robert Keith, 38, of Riner, and Kenneth Keith, 19, of Christiansburg died in the crash five miles outside of Floyd.

None of the men were wearing safety belts, Hytes said, and were ejected from the vehicle.

State police continue to investigate the crash but tell ABC 13 that alcohol may have been a factor.
