A convicted sex offender is going back to prison for sexually assaulting a Harrisburg woman he met at a Midtown bar.
William Samuel Jenkins, 49, of Harrisburg, was sentenced Monday to 25-50 years in state prison.
Jenkins was convicted on charges of attempted indecent assault and simple assault during a jury trial in December 2012.
Authorities said he assaulted the woman behind a building in the 1400 block of N. 3rd Street on September 10, 2011.
Jenkins was previously convicted of a sexual assault in Maine in the late 1990's, which placed him on the Megan's Law registry in Pennsylvania and implicated a 25-year mandatory sentence for repeat sexual offenders.
