The federal government shutdown has closed the Eisenhower National Historic Site and the David Wills House, while Gettysburg National Military Park is open but with limited access.
Carl Whitehill, spokesman for the Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, said park rangers at the battlefield have been furloughed, but independently contracted guides and other tours of the battlefield can continue with limited access to some areas.
All privately operated museums, including the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, as well as town history tours, programs and other businesses remain open, Whitehill said.
