Those are the questions that still remain in the Susquehanna Township School District after high school Assistant Principal Shawn Sharkey was arrested and charged with having a sexual relationship with a student.
Now, an investigator with the Dauphin County district attorney's office will try to find answers.
Township police turned the investigation over to their counterparts at the county because the police chief is also employed as a coach at the high school, which could pose a conflict of interest.
"We have detectives and prosecutors working on this as we speak, and we'll find out what occurred to the best of our ability and report that to the public," District Attorney Ed Marsico said.
Marsico said, if necessary, his office will take the case to a grand jury.
