ENOLA, Pa. (WHTM) -

Tracks in the snow led to a break in a car theft case from February 2013.

On February 9, Upper Allen Police were dispatched after receiving reports of items being stolen from inside cars near Holly, Nittany and San Juan drives in Cumberland County.

Footprints in the snow led officers to a nearby home; after months of investigation, the tracks helped officers identify 19-year-old Scott Simon of Enola as a suspect.

During the investigation, police seized items from Simon that had been stolen from different cars.

In total, police identified 10 incidents with 15 different victims.

Once all the victims were identified, police obtained a warrant for Simon. He was charged with theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and loitering/prowling at night.

On October 2, Simon was arrested and arraigned. A preliminary hearing will be held on a later date.
