CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Carlisle police are looking for a man who pulled a gun on a home owner.

The stranger knocked on a door in the 1200 block of Georgetown Circle Sunday night, told the home owner he was there to take a survey, and when the home owner shook his head the man pulled a handgun from small of his back, police said.

The home owner slammed the door on the gunman and called authorities. Officers arrived within two minutes but were unable to find a suspect, police said.

The gunman was described as a Hispanic male in his 20's with a stocky build, about 5'7" tall and approximately 200 lbs, and wearing a dark colored polo shirt.

Police urged borough residents not to answer their doors after dark for people they do not know, and to report any late night callers to authorities.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Carlisle police at 717-243-5252.
