State police in Lykens arrested a Tower City man after he allegedly fled from a trooper with a 9-year-old boy in his vehicle.
James A. Lemmon, 40, saw the trooper's vehicle Sunday afternoon and fled at a high rate of speed for no apparent reason, police said.
He ran through several stop signs in the Schuylkill County borough before stopping and telling the boy to run and get his mother, police said.
Lemmon was taken into custody as he exited the vehicle. He was charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and driving without insurance, police said.
He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 bail.
