BOILING SPRINGS, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Cumberland County wrestling coach will return to the mat after being suspended amid a drug investigation, according to abc27's media partners at The Sentinel.

The newspaper reports the South Middleton School Board voted unanimously to return Rodney Wright to the head coach position at Boiling Springs High School, effective January 1. He will miss the first six weeks of the season.

Last April, Wright was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The case against him is still active, but his attorney told The Sentinel that he is a candidate for a program that could result in his record being expunged without an admission of guilt.

Last month, wrestlers and parents crowded a school board meeting on Wright's behalf.

The Sentinel reports Wright will also return to the classroom as a driver's education teacher next week.
