Fugitive from York arrested in upstate NY

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

U.S. Marshals arrested a wanted fugitive from York City in upstate New York.

Halim Rayshawn Bowen, 23, was wanted for a murder that occurred on the evening of August 17.

Police said Bowen entered a tavern in the 300 block of Walnut Street and fatally shot the victim in the back. He was charged with criminal homicide on August 21.

Following a U.S. Marshal investigation, authorities determined that Bowen may have fled to upstate New York.

On the morning of October 9, marshals and local law enforcement located and arrested Bowen in the 300 block of Brandywine Avenue in Schenectady, New York. The fugitive was taken into custody without incident.

Bowen was turned over to local authorities for processing. He will await a court hearing to determine his extradition to York County.
