Police: alcohol believed to be a factor in deadly crash

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police are investigating a deadly crash in Perry County.

It happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday on Route 850 near Comp Road and Paige Hill Road in Spring Township.

Police said Benjamin Gardner, 20, of New Bloomfield went into the other lane and into oncoming traffic.  His vehicle struck a car driven by a 29-year-old man from Landisburg.

Police said Gardner was ejected from the vehicle and died.

The other driver reported minor injuries.

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
