Averett University Holding Job Fair on November 11

Danville, VA - Averett University is holding a job fair to help get you back to work.

On November 11th, anyone can come out to hear from large and small employers who each have about five current job openings.

Here's a list of confirmed employers coming to the event:

Emeritus at Danville, Danville Regional Medical Center, Team Nurse, Lowe's, Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Abingdon Place of Danville, Dollar General, Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Gretna Health and Rehabilitation, Telvista, Esell Propack, Home Depot, O'Kelly's, Danville Police Dept., City of Danville, Wal-Mart (Danville, Martinsville and South Boston), Chick-Fil-A, Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority, Danville Sheriff's Office, Infinity Global, Unilin-Columbia Flooring, Lynchburg Police Department

This job fair goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Averett's campus. There are also workshops you can attend.

Resume Writing & Interview Skills: 10:30 – 11 am; 12:20 – 1 pm

Making a Successful Career Change: 11:30 – 12 pm; 1:30 – 2 pm

This event is on the Averett University Graduate and Professional Studies Riverview Campus at 512 Bridge Street in Danville on November 11.

Attendance is free. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase.

    State police are investigating a robbery that happened Sunday at a convenience store in Greene Township, Franklin County.According to authorities, it happened just before 6:30 a.m. at the Pit Stop on the 2300 block of Philadelphia Avenue.A male reportedly entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money.The suspect is described as being 5-foot, 6-inches tall, and weighs about 150 lbs.
