LPD vs. LFD in Coin War

Posted:

Lynchburg, Va-  It's the Lynchburg Police Department against the Fire Department going head to head to raise money.

Each department is collecting loose change.

The department that collects the most will win the "coin war."

Police Chief Parks Snead will wash a fire engine if the LPD loses.

Fire Chief Brad Ferguson will wash a police car if the fire department doesn't come out on top.

It's what we do everyday, and I think it's a great opportunity for this organization as well as the Lynchburg Fire Department to give back to the public and to some of the very worthwhile organizations that are funded by the United Way of Central Virginia, " said Lt. Dave Ragland of the LPD. "This is one competition the LPD plans on winning," he added.

"I told him he had to wash my ladder truck if he lost, but he said he didn't care," said Chief Brad Ferguson of the Lynchburg Fire Department.

If you would like to donate you can stop by the Police Department and Fire Department main buildings. They have jars designated for the fundraiser at their front desks.
