Danville Police Investigating Carjacking, Armed Robbery


Danville, VA- The Danville Police Department is investigating an carjacking and armed robbery.

Police say at 10:41 p.m. Friday, two suspects approached a female while she was in her car in the parking lot of the Stratford House on the 1100 Block of Main Street, demanding the victim's vehicle and cell phone.

One of the suspects knocked on the window of the vehicle with a black semi-automatic pistol and told the victim to get out of the vehicle.

The suspects then grabbed the victim by the hair and threw her to the ground as she was exiting the vehicle, police say.

A second victim, who drove up to the scene was also forced out of her vehicle and onto the ground.

Police say both suspects fled the area in the second victim's Ford Explorer. The Explorer was later found located by police in the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue, backed into a tree.

Both suspects were black males. One of the suspects was wearing a black hoodie, black mask and dark jeans. No further descriptions are available.
