Arooga's patrons, staff robbed at gunpoint

CAMP HILL, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Camp Hill are searching for two men who robbed patrons and staff at gunpoint at the Arooga's on the Camp Hill Bypass.

Authorities were called to Arooga's along the 1300 block of Camp Hill Bypass in East Pennsboro Township early Saturday morning around 2:50 a.m. in response to an active armed robbery.

According to officials, two armed men entered the restaurant at around 2:40 a.m. through an unlocked back door.

They encountered approximately 10 patrons and staff inside the restaurant, which was closed at the time, and forced them into the dining room.

The victims were then ordered to hand over their cash, cell phones and jewelry. One employee was taken to the restaurant office to turn over restaurant funds.

The robbers then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

There were no reported injuries in this incident. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken along with several cell phones and jewelry.

Police said the robbers were both wearing hoodies and facial masks. One of the men was of medium height and build, and the other was larger—over six feet tall—and heavyset.

Authorities are reviewing the surveillance video.
