Harrisburg police investigate shooting at community center

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Harrisburg police continue to look for whoever is responsible for an early Sunday morning shooting incident that injured several people near the Allison Hill Community Center.

Investigators said several adults and children were leaving the center at the end of a youth party when the shots were fired.

Several people suffered non life-threatening injuries and were treated and released from a hospital.

Several people who live in the neighborhood said it's not uncommon for a shooting to take place at the community center.

Shalee Aleman lives nearby, but said she slept through all the commotion. Aleman, who grew up in the neighborhood, said there is usually security for center events, and shootings seem to take place when someone is driving past the facility and opens fire.

Harrisburg police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
