A man accused of robbing a Harrisburg area bank before leading state troopers on a pursuit with a stolen taxi cab is headed to trial.
Jason Butler, 30, of Williamsport, waived his preliminary hearing Monday afternoon and allowed the robbery charge to proceed to Dauphin County Court.
Butler allegedly robbed the Belco Community Credit Union on Paxton Street on Sept. 16 and secured a cab to leave the area, according to Swatara Township police said.
After he switched cabs and told the second driver to take him to Williamsport, a state trooper stopped the taxi on Routes 11/15 in Perry County, but Butler forced the driver out of the cab and sped away, according to police.
State police vehicles then pursued Butler and took him into custody on Route 11/15 in the Liverpool area, police said.
Butler remains in Dauphin County Prison on $100,000 cash bail. His formal arraignment is set for Nov. 19.
