Young couple found dead at Grantville motel

GRANTVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police are investigating the deaths of a young couple at a Grantville motel.

The man and woman were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds Tuesday morning at the Cottage Inn & Self Storage, at 10200 Allentown Boulevard, police said.

Their infant daughter was in the room and was not harmed.

"That child has been taken away from the scene and is being taken care of," said Trooper Robert Hicks, a state police spokesman.

The names of the victims were not immediately released. Authorities said they were in their mid-20's.

Dauphin County First Deputy District Attorney Fran Chardo said investigators are treating the case as a homicide investigation until the evidence shows otherwise.

"We're looking at all angles and certainly investigating each one to its fullest extent," Hicks said.

Police said they are not actively looking for any suspects, and they do not believe there is any danger to the public.

"Whether its a homicide, suicide, we're not sure," Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick said. "There's more players involved, and a lot of people were at the scene. We have to check a lot of things out. There's some things missing. We have to patch it all together and figure it all out."

A friend of the woman told abc27 News she often complained about her boyfriend while the two bonded at a nearby laundromat. She said she wasn't surprised by the sudden violence, and added that the woman had "anger issues."

Hetrick said an autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.

"We have to go through each theory and destroy it," he said, "and the one that stands, then we'll know."
