Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New 'Stop Hunger Now' Office in Lynchburg

Campbell Co., VA -Organizers cut the ribbon Wednesday morning opening the Stop Hunger Now office on Timberlake Road in Campbell County.

It's a meal packaging program where volunteers put food packages together that will go to school children in 64 countries around the world.

Right now 210,000 meals are ready to be shipped.

But many more are needed, so they're putting out the call to businesses or churches.

"I like to call it a packaging party because once everybody gets together they start to have a good time, communicating, team work. They can have that hands-on mission without having a raise a ton of money to go out of country; they can do it in country," said Troy Henson, with Stop Hunger Now.

The food packages are made of soy, rice, vegetables and vitamins. The next shipment leaves in mid-November.
