Lynchburg, VA - A Liberty University staff member recently received a $40,000 grant to further his research on Alzheimer's.
Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Gary Isaacs is the recipient of the 2013 - 2014 Alzheimer's and Related Diseases Research Award Fund.
He has now collected $90,000 for his analysis projects since starting at Liberty in 2009.
Isaacs says he's humbled by the grant and hopes he can help change the world.
"I think everyone has a little bit of altruism in them where they want to make the world a better place. I think the more things we can learn about not just Alzheimer's disease but all diseases, then we can start to make more informed decisions," said Isaacs.
Dr. Isaacs has six undergraduate research assistants who will help him study the brain.
