5th Grade Students Enjoy Urban Ag Day in Lynchburg

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - Kids in Lynchburg got down on the farm experience, inside city limits.

Lynchburg Grows hosted 5th graders from various city schools Thursday for Urban Ag Day.

King Arthur Flour visited from Vermont to teach about bread making. They also learned how to get juice from strawberries.

The activities are geared toward the 5th grade SOL tests.

"They told us that we need to learn more about Earth," said Sunshine McClure, a Paul Munro 5th grader. "They want to show us how we pollute and how we can take care of the Earth as well."

City school administrators will join in the fun when more students visit Friday.
