NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (WHTM) -

Saturday's rain didn't stop Midstaters from raising money for cancer patients and their families during the 11th annual Vickie's Angel Walk in New Cumberland.

The event was started in memory of Vickie Minnich who passed away in 2003 after battling cancer.

"We're honoring Vickie by helping others," said Mickey Minnich, Vickie's husband. "Everybody's helping other people fighting cancer. Love, faith, and hope. Give them hope, pay their bills. Don't you worry about your bills, worry about your cancer, let us worry about your bills."

abc27's Dennis Owens took part in the walk. The annual Vickie's Angel Walk raises money to help families who are battling cancer in several counties here in the Midstate.

The walk was originally scheduled for last Saturday but had to be postponed due to the severe flooding.
