HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Gov. Tom Corbett has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of an Army Ranger from Carlisle who died in Afghanistan.

Corbett said all United States and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Cumberland County should lowered to half-staff on Wednesday in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Patrick C. Hawkins.

Hawkins, 25, was killed Oct. 6 while aiding a fellow wounded Ranger during an attack on their unit. He was serving his fourth deployment to Afghanistan.

He will be buried Wednesday in Arlington National Cemetery.

Both U.S. and Pennsylvania flags should be flown at full-staff on Thursday, Corbett said.
