Northeastern H. S. receives second bomb threat

Posted: Updated:
MANCHESTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating a second bomb threat at Northeastern High School in York County.

School officials released this statement:

"Late this afternoon, Northeastern High School was the recipient of another bomb threat. In this instance, staff from Northeastern Regional Police Department was already on site and was able to immediately begin investigating the situation.

Based on the information we received, high school administration, after consulting with police, decided to release students fifteen minutes early. Student drivers and walkers were permitted to leave campus. Bus riders were directed to waiting buses and left at the usual time.

We are continuing to cooperate with local police to identify and apprehend whoever is creating this problem. As we had mentioned yesterday, we plan to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

We again thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we address the situation. We are making use of all resources available to us to insure this no longer occurs. We continue to make the safety of our students, staff, and guests our highest priority. We certainly appreciate the frustrations and anxiety this is creating and we are taking measures to put it to a halt."

Students at Northeastern were evacuated on Monday afternoon as well after officials received a bomb threat.
