CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Cumberland County man is facing charges he took his grandmother's car without her permission and drove it on the wrong side of the road.

Alex James Walker, 20, of North Middleton Township, was also driving the car Saturday without a driver's license, township police said.

Police said he took the 2012 Toyota Camry while his 70-year-old grandmother was sleeping Friday night and drove the car to Franklin County, where he was stopped by state police in Chambersburg early Saturday for going the wrong way on Route 30.

Walker was turned over to North Middleton police and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving without a driver's license.

He was sent to Cumberland County Prison on $2,000 cash bail, and a preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 4.
