Party City burglary may be linked to others, police say

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating whether a burglary at a Party City store in suburban Harrisburg is linked to similar incidents in central Pennsylvania.

Lower Paxton Township police said the store in the Paxton Towne Center Shopping Center was burglarized sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

An employee reporting for work Monday discovered that someone had forcibly entered the store and had cut the alarm wires, police said.

The store was last known to be secure Sunday night at 10 p.m.

The business's safe, which contained cash and checks, was stolen.

Investigators said they are working with police in Berks and Lancaster counties who had similar incidents at Party City stores.

Anyone with information may call Lower Paxton police at 717-657-5656 or leave an anonymous tip at 717-724-8317.
