Lancaster County Commissioners approved a tax incentive plan that they hope will attract national retailer Nordstrom to build a distribution facility in an Elizabethtown industrial park.
Officials say the company would build a $150 million complex in the Conewago Industrial Park.
Senator Bob Casey supports the move. Casey says he sent a letter to Nordstrom offering his support because the distribution center would strengthen a solid employment base in the region.
Roy Junk has lived in the Elizabethtown area his entire life. He hunts on the property where the proposed new distribution center would be built.
Junk says he would look forward to hunting elsewhere if the potential new neighbor brings 700 jobs for people in the area.
"I think it's great to have so many jobs coming to Elizabethtown," he said.
Elizabethtown officials hope to have the final word by the end of the first week of November if Nordstrom will be moving forward with plans to build the distribution center at the Conewago Industrial Park.
