Damaging Winds Possible Early Friday

Posted:

A Wind Advisory is in effect for northwest sections of the region this afternoon and tonight... Winds could gust to 50mph in the higher elevations.

A strong cold front continues moving our way. Halloween is a warm one this year, as gusty southwest winds develop ahead of the front. Expect a mix of clouds and sun, with only isolated showers, mainly across western sections. Highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Trick-or-treating this evening is breezy and mild, with only hit or miss showers possible. Temperatures fall through the 60s. Have fun, be safe!

Rain and gusty winds develop overnight and through the first half of Friday. Winds will average 15-30mph, but brief gusts to 60mph are also possible before winds back off and rain fades toward Friday afternoon.

The weekend looks cooler and drier. Clouds mix with breaks of sunshine on Saturday with highs in the 60s. More sunshine, but cooler winds return Sunday, holding highs in the 50s.

Dry and milder for the first couple of days of next week.

*Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour before bed Saturday night, as Daylight Saving Time ends.
