UPDATE: Numerous Accidents Keep L.P.D. Busy Saturday, One Injured

Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg and Campbell County first responders had a busy day Saturday, responding to numerous accidents all over the area.

One of the accidents at the intersection of University and Evans Boulevards injured the passenger of a Jeep Cherokee around 12:30 p.m.

"There was a four door sedan and a Jeep Cherokee and the driver of the four door sedan was a female who is charged with failing to yield the right of way," said Lt. Deaner with the LPD.

The passenger of the Jeep was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Sedan has been charged with failure to yield the right of way.

UPDATE: 3:35 p.m.

Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Police Department has cleared the series of accidents that each occurred within a small span of time Saturday afternoon in and around Lynchburg City.

One person was injured in an accident at the intersection of University Boulevard and Evans Boulevard Saturday around 12:33 p.m.

Officials at the scene tell ABC 13's Katie Brooke that a jeep and a sedan were involved in the crash.

The driver of the jeep was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The sedan's airbag deployed and the female drive has been charged with failure to yield the right of way.

Three other accidents have been cleared by police and rescue personnel.

Two of the accidents were actually in Campbell County. In both cases, Lynchburg Police Units happened to drive up on the scene and have cleared both accidents.

Lynchburg, VA - Numerous accidents in Lynchburg City and Campbell County are tying up traffic and keeping first responders busy Saturday afternoon.

Lynchburg Police were also on the scene of an accident at the intersection of University Boulevard and Evans Boulevard as of this writing.

The call for the University Blvd. accident came in around 12:33 p.m., according to LynComm.

Just before 1 p.m. an accident was called into LynComm at Boonesboro Road and Spottswood Place.

Dispatchers also tell ABC 13 that LPD officers happened to drive by two other accidents in Campbell County.

One accident has been handed over to State Police at Laxton Road and Timberlake Road.

Another accident at Greenview Drive and Lighthouse Drive was called into Campbell County by an LPD officer as well.
