A man and woman are in the hospital after being attacked and stabbed in a York County home early Sunday morning, and now police say a body found in the Susquehanna River hours later is connected to the home invasion.
West York Borough Police were dispatched to the first block of North Highland Avenue where they found a 25-year-old woman and 28-year-old man. Both had been stabbed multiple times by a man wearing a Halloween mask.
Hours later, police in Lancaster County found a body inside a car submerged in the Susquehanna River near Columbia Park. West York police have since identified the deceased as 28-year-old Garrell Tyler.
Investigators said Tyler was married to the woman he attacked. According to court records, the victim had a protection from abuse order against Tyler because of an attack in early October. In that case, he'd been charged with assault and harassment, and was released on $5,000 bail.
The victims remain in York Hospital where they are being treated for severe injuries and loss of blood. They were last listed in "stable" condition.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tyler Monday. Police released no further details about how he died.
