Gubernatorial Candidates Campaigning Hard as Election Day Nears

Posted:

Richmond, VA - In less than 24 hours, voters across Virginia will head to the polls.

The gubernatorial candidates are making as many stops as they can Monday with as many big names as possible.

Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Ron Paul are helping Republican Ken Cuccinelli at several rallies.

In Northern Virginia Monday, Vice President Joe Biden is campaigning for Democrat Terry McAuliffe.

While McAuliffe has led in the polls, the expected voter turnout could work in Cuccinelli's favor.

The state Board of Elections says turnout could be as low as 30%.

Virginia law requires all voters to provide an acceptable form of ID at the polls. If you don't have one, you will be required to vote a provisional ballot. You will then have until noon on Friday to deliver a copy of your ID to your local electoral board in order for that ballot to be counted.

You can check your voter registration status here.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
