YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Lancaster County coroner has ruled the death of a stabbing suspect a suicide after his body was found inside a car submerged in the Susquehanna River.

According to officials, 28-year-old Garrell Tyler had texted family members saying he was going to drive into the river following a violent home invasion in York County.

A 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were hospitalized after being attacked and stabbed by a masked man early Sunday morning; hours later Tyler's body was discovered in the river near Columbia Park.

Investigators said Tyler was married to the woman he attacked. According to court records, the victim had a protection from abuse order against Tyler because of an attack in early October. In that case, he'd been charged with assault and harassment, and was released on $5,000 bail.

The victims remain in York Hospital where they are being treated for severe injuries and loss of blood. They were last listed in "stable" condition.
