Lynchburg, VA- November is adoption awareness month, and you can help that cause this weekend.
Crystal Cowart and her friend Juliette Amerman founded a local nonprofit known as Kingdom Deep Ministries. They started the ministry when Crystal's daughter Taylor asked for a little sister. The family was inspired to adopt that sister and they are now on the waiting list to get a little girl from Ethiopia.
"From our experience in not having enough funds and just struggling to find a huge dollar amount on top of just regular everyday things, we were basically inspired and said you know, there are tons of other people in our same position that would love to adopt but they can't because they just don't have the money for it," said Cowart.
They will be having a 5K race at Peaks View Park on Saturday at 9 a.m.
