HANOVER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 90-year-old Maryland man suffered minor injuries when he crashed through the wall of a Hanover apartment building.

Walter Evans, of Brookeville, Md., was entering a parking area in front of the building at 17 Center Square when he struck the brick wall Wednesday afternoon for unknown reasons, according to Hanover Police Chief Dwayne Smith.

A woman in the apartment, 54-year-old Jane Olsen, was asleep on her sofa when Evans's 2011 Subaru Forester entered her living room at around 2:15 p.m., Smith said.

Olsen suffered minor injuries when the Subaru knocked her off the sofa. She complained of minor pains but refused emergency treatment, police said.

Evans was transported to Hanover Hospital. His 79-year-old passenger was not injured.

Damage to the building appeared to limited to the exterior wall, but the owner planned to have it inspected.

Police continue to investigate the crash and are asking witnesses to call them at 717-637-5575.
