HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Multiple law enforcement agencies searched for a suspect wanted by federal authorities in Paxtang Wednesday night, but were unable to locate him.

Paxtang patrol officers responded to the area of Derry and 30th streets at around 7 p.m. after discovering the car of a wanted man parked in front of a home. Authorities shut down three blocks of Derry Street while police searched the area.

The suspect, Steven Lynch, is wanted on a federal probation violation and an additional probation violation out of New York, according to Paxtang's police chief.

Investigators said Lynch has ties to the Harrisburg area, but would not confirm whether is he wanted for any local crimes. They believe he left his car on Derry Street and used another vehicle to flee the area.

Officers from Harrisburg, Paxtang and Swatara Township, as well as U.S. Marshals, were on the scene. The Dauphin County Crisis Response Team was also mobilized.
