Tuscaloosa, AL -

Other campus events, ESPN Gameday, and a large number of fans have forced some changes to the normal game day procedures.  Below is the latest information from the University of Alabama.

Traffic Tip of the Week

Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. for the LSU game.  Traffic will be heavy exiting Birmingham between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  This can cause a significant traffic back up of up to six miles around exit 79 where I-20/59 goes from three lanes to two.  Please prepare accordingly and possibly try these two alternatives:

  • Utilize exit 89 at the Mercedes plant to access Highway 11 westbound.   Highway 11 turns into University Blvd., and it will bring you directly into campus.
  • Utilize exit 100 to access Highway 216 westbound.  Highway 216 turns into 15th St. (Veterans Memorial Pkwy.) once you arrive in Tuscaloosa.

Pre-Purchase On Campus Parking

Pre-purchase your parking for Gameday and save $5 per game.  The passes are print-at-home passes so you can print the pass anytime at your convenience!  We have plenty of parking on campus with a coordinated traffic plan to get you out of the lots and on your way home after the game.

    • Lot B (Student Health Center) - $25/Game  Click here to purchase.

University Blvd. Closing for ESPN Gameday

University Blvd. will be closed from 7:30 a.m. till 11 a.m. on Saturday morning from Campus Dr. W. to Stadium Dr. for the broadcasting of ESPN Gameday.  If you head west on University Blvd. to access Stadium Dr. for Quad drop off, you will NOT be affected.  The road block will be set up to force all vehicles on University Blvd. to turn right on Stadium Dr.

Campus Roadblocks

We anticipate a large crowd and heavy pedestrian traffic on the streets.  Because of this, core campus roadblocks will be set at 2 p.m.

Alabama vs. LSU Special Olympics Unified Sports Flag Football Game

On Saturday at 9 a.m. at the University Rec Fields, there will be a flag football competition between Alabama and LSU.  Teams will combine students from Alabama and LSU as well as Special Olympics athletes from Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge.  This event is free to attend. Parking will be available at the UA Gameday general public parking lots at the normal Gameday rates.

Open Flames/Fires Policy

With the weather cooling down for the upcoming games, we want to remind you of the open flame/fire policy:

  • Cooking is limited to grills only.
  • Grills should be set up away from, or protected from, pedestrian traffic and flammable materials.
  • Grills must be monitored at all times.
  • Extinguish all flames before leaving your area.
  • Do not dump charcoal or firewood on the grass.  Charcoal Dump Stations are available on the west side of the Quad and at Moore/Little Halls.  See map for more details.
  • Do not dump cooking oil on The Quad

Grills or fire pits are not allowed within 50 feet of campus buildings or under tents.   All fires must be contained within grills or other containers designed specifically for that purpose. Extinguish fires thoroughly with water before leaving them unattended. Place extinguished charcoal in designated containers or remove it from campus for disposal. Do not dump charcoal or firewood on the ground or in dumpsters. Grilling/fire pits are not allowed in the parking decks.

Tailgate locations with grills or fire pits must have a 2.5 pound all-purpose fire extinguisher within 15 feet of the fire.  At least one person in attendance must be trained in use of the fire extinguisher.

All reserved tailgating spaces on the Quad are reserved through Gameday Tents.  Click Here to visit their website and learn more!

Presidential Park is another reserved tailgating area on the campus of the University of Alabama. This location is only 400 yards from Bryant-Denny Stadium and a great place to enjoy your Gameday tailgate off of the Quad.  For availability and pricing information, Click Here or contact 205-535-4647.

Power will be cut off 1.5 hours after the game or 11:45 p.m. (Whichever occurs first).
