Tuscaloosa, AL -

Other campus events, ESPN Gameday, and a large number of fans have forced some changes to the normal game day procedures.  Below is the latest information from the University of Alabama.

GAMEDAY INFORMATION

Traffic Tip of the Week

Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. for the LSU game.  Traffic will be heavy exiting Birmingham between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.  This can cause a significant traffic back up of up to six miles around exit 79 where I-20/59 goes from three lanes to two.  Please prepare accordingly and possibly try these two alternatives:

  • Utilize exit 89 at the Mercedes plant to access Highway 11 westbound.   Highway 11 turns into University Blvd., and it will bring you directly into campus.
  • Utilize exit 100 to access Highway 216 westbound.  Highway 216 turns into 15th St. (Veterans Memorial Pkwy.) once you arrive in Tuscaloosa.

Pre-Purchase On Campus Parking

Pre-purchase your parking for Gameday and save $5 per game.  The passes are print-at-home passes so you can print the pass anytime at your convenience!  We have plenty of parking on campus with a coordinated traffic plan to get you out of the lots and on your way home after the game.

  • GAME WEEK PARKING PASSES
    • Lot B (Student Health Center) - $25/Game  Click here to purchase.

University Blvd. Closing for ESPN Gameday

University Blvd. will be closed from 7:30 a.m. till 11 a.m. on Saturday morning from Campus Dr. W. to Stadium Dr. for the broadcasting of ESPN Gameday.  If you head west on University Blvd. to access Stadium Dr. for Quad drop off, you will NOT be affected.  The road block will be set up to force all vehicles on University Blvd. to turn right on Stadium Dr.

Campus Roadblocks

We anticipate a large crowd and heavy pedestrian traffic on the streets.  Because of this, core campus roadblocks will be set at 2 p.m.

Alabama vs. LSU Special Olympics Unified Sports Flag Football Game

On Saturday at 9 a.m. at the University Rec Fields, there will be a flag football competition between Alabama and LSU.  Teams will combine students from Alabama and LSU as well as Special Olympics athletes from Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge.  This event is free to attend. Parking will be available at the UA Gameday general public parking lots at the normal Gameday rates.

  • Grills should be set up away from, or protected from, pedestrian traffic and flammable materials.
  • Grills must be monitored at all times.
