Chambersburg police are looking into a possible incidents of "sexting" among middle and high school students.
Police said they began an investigation Wednesday after receiving a complaint that a photograph depicting a juvenile female in various stages of nudity was circulated via digital technology between students at Chambersburg Area Middle School North and Chambersburg Area High School.
Sexting is the act of sending sexually explicit messages or photographs, usually between mobile phones.
Chambersburg police said they will work with the Chambersburg Area School Police and the Franklin County District Attorney's Office to complete the investigation.
Additional information will be released once the investigation is complete, police said.
