A group of clergy gathered Saturday in Philadelphia to support a Lebanon County pastor who is in danger of losing his congregation.
Back in 2007, Pastor Frank Shaeffer presided over the wedding of his gay son in Massachusetts where same-sex marriage is legal.
He never spoke of his son's wedding until it recently came to light.
Now the church is at issue on how the pastor may have violated the Book of Discipline, which constitutes the law and doctrine of the United Methodist Church.
The pastor is expected to go to a parochial trial and stand before 13 jurors made up of members of the United Methodist Church.
