YORK SPRINGS, Pa. (WHTM) -

Six vehicles, including a snow plow, were scorched in a fire Tuesday morning that also damaged the Latimore Township maintenance building in Adams County.

A state police fire marshal is investigating the blaze that brought 14 fire departments to 559 Old Route 15 in York Springs after the fire was reported at around 4 a.m.

It took about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control, but officials said determining the cause could take weeks.

Board of supervisors chairman Dan Worley said the fire may have been started by a propane heater in the building. He said the township has had multiple problems with the heater in the past.

Worley said two of the township's snow plows were not in the building because they were undergoing inspections, and a third plow was in another building.

"If we had a snow storm this morning that was where we had to push something, we could have handled it with the equipment that we had," Worley said.

A damage estimate was not yet available.
