Pa. business climate ranked nationally

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

According to business publication Site Selection Magazine, Pennsylvania has the county's 18th best business climate.

The ranking was part of the magazine's annual assessment.

Site Selector ranks the top 25 business climates and Pennsylvania was unranked last year. The magazine took a look at things like new plants and competitiveness.

"People that are serious about doing business will look at Pennsylvania. If we can just make the numbers work, I think we will continue to be successful," David Black, Harrisburg Regional Chamber president said.

Black said the midstate can share some of the credit for the jump.

It appears more companies have been drawn to our area.

For example, more than 1,000 new jobs were announced recently in Cumberland County, including rumors of an Apple repair facility.

Officials in Lancaster County are trying to bring a Nordstrom facility to Elizabethtown.

Site Selector ranked Georgia in first place.
