The Susquehanna Township School District has been dealing with a number of issues lately and many residents and parents believed the recent election of new school board members was a step in the right direction.
They came to Monday night's board meeting to say so. It was the first school board meeting in Susquehanna Township since three new members were elected.
One of the three newest members was Carol Karl. She once again brought up the district's handling of the case of Shawn Sharkey, the former assistant principal who was accused of having sex with a student. But there were also questions about who in the district may have withheld information.
"What process is now in place in our school district for handling reports of suspected child abuse by a staff member?" she asked. "To whom are staff to report suspicions?"
In addition to Karl, the other two new board members are Clifton Edwards and Helen Spence.
