Lynchburg - Randolph's Zach Desgain hit two free throws with four seconds left to force overtime, and the WildCats outscored Frostburg State 15-4 in the extra period to beat the Bobcats 75-64.
Randolph had led the entire game, but Frostburg State took its first lead with 3:26 remaining on a three-pointer by Kurt Gangler. Down two in the final seconds, out of a timeout, Desgain drew a hard foul on a desperation 3-pointer that could have won the game. The sophomore guard out of J.R. Tucker High in Richmond then hit both free throws to tie the game and force the extra period.
The WildCats dominated the overtime and won by 11. Desgain led five Randolph players in double figures with a game-high 18 points, also chipping in five steals. Mike Ehilegbu added 16 and 11 rebounds, followed by Evan Horn with 13, Dylan Shiflett with 12 and Corey Brown with 10. Gangler led Frostburg State with 15 points, Aaron Bellamy added 11 and 10 rebounds.
Randolph improves to 2-and-0 with the victory and now has some time off, the Wildcats next play at Methodist on Tuesday, November 26.
