HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Philadelphia Eagles star LeSean McCoy gave people a reason to be thankful on Monday.

The former Bishop McDevitt star teamed up with State Senator Rob Teplitz for the third annual turkey giveaway at the Villa Sneaker store on Market Street in Harrisburg.

The giveaway provides a Thanksgiving dinner made up of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce to 250 low income families.

"It's one of those things, where growing up you wish somebody would have did that for you," McCoy said. "And now I'm in the position to do that. It means a lot to me and I want to encourage the young guys to do the same."

Since the event started, more than 750 families have received the dinner kits.
