A former treasurer has been charged with taking money from the Manheim Township Fire Rescue Volunteer Firefighters Relief Association.
Robert D. Coots, 32, of Columbia, is accused of withdrawing money from the association's account between July and November 2013 for his personal use, according to township police.
The estimated loss is $5,655, police said.
Police said they filed a criminal complaint for theft by deception against Coots.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 26.
